THE ROAD TO A GOOD WINE

Plantation

In 2016, 5 hectares of vineyards were planted in Cabildo, an interior valley located in the Aconcagua Valley. With the help of our wine adviser Roberto Pizarro, the strains were selected to plant, considering a base of Cabernet sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Cabernet franc and a small percentage of Grenache and Petit verdot.

Creation of the winery

In 2019 we created the winery of the vineyard, by rebuilding an old 19th century house. This winery has 1 meter wide adobe walls, allowing to maintain moderate temperatures inside. The whole wine and save process is produced here, with the help of our team

First harvest

In March 2018 the first vineyard harvest was made, giving way to what is today Rio Lua. All grapes are harvested manually, always in search of a perfect product.

Brand

This family project consists of 5 sisters: Valentina, María José, María Ignacia, Patricia and Theresa. This inspiration gives rise to an elegant, contemporary and familiar brand, which arises thanks to the special participation and contribution of each of the sisters.

Rio Lua, for its part, obtains its name from the Rio La Ligua, which crosses the valley of Cabildo and which was formerly known as Rio Lua, in the Mapundungungun language.

This project aims to include both our family history and the history of the Cabildo Valley, a sector marked by an old and forgotten wine tradition.
